About Sxitch
A switcher built by a keyboard person, for keyboard people.
What Sxitch is
Sxitch is a native macOS app switcher and Command Tab replacement. Instead of cycling through open apps, you trigger Sxitch with a hotkey and type the first letters of the app you want. The moment only one valid match remains, Sxitch switches to it. It also brings multiple views (grid, list, radial, and search), window picking, hide and quit modes, custom app groups, and a tree-based type-to-switch flow for apps with clashing prefixes.
Who makes it
Sxitch is developed and sold by MystikoLab (Umang Surana). It is an independent, self-funded product: no venture funding, no analytics pipeline, and no subscriptions. A one-time license covers 3 Macs and all future updates. Support runs through the Discord community and admin@sxitch.app, and refunds within 7 days are honored without questions.
Why it is open source
Sxitch needs Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions to read window metadata through standard macOS APIs. Sxitch never captures your screen, but it did not feel right asking for those permissions while keeping the source closed. The full app source is published on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license, and everything runs locally on your Mac: the only network call Sxitch makes is license verification at purchase.
How it is built
Sxitch is written in Swift with SwiftUI, targets macOS 15 and later on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and is distributed through Homebrew and direct download. The website, checkout, and licensing are powered by Astro on Cloudflare Workers with Polar for payments.
